Battle of Mons Badonicus

The Battle of Mons Badonicus, or Mount Badon, was one of the 12 major battles of King Arthur.

Battle of Badon Hill

"The twelfth was the most severe contest, when Arthur penetrated to the Hill of Badon. In this engagement, 940 fell by his hand alone, no one but the Lord offering him assistance. In all these engagements the Britons were sucessful. For no strength can avail against the will of the Almighty" The Battle of Badon Hill was King Arthur's greatest triumph over the Saxons. This almost total defeat of the Saxon invaders brought about an extended period of peace to Britain.

"For two hundred years knights had fought and died for a land not their own, but on that day on Badon Hill all who fought put their lives in service of a greater cause: freedom."

Badon is also the name of one of the domains in Kingdoms of Camelot.
